Pacers pay a visit to Bobcats
Feb 22, 2012 - 3:29 PM (Sports Network) - The Indiana Pacers try to make it four straight wins this evening when they visit the hapless Charlotte Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Pacers continued their recent winning ways on Tuesday, as Roy Hibbert scored a career-high 30 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, boosting Indiana to a 117-108 overtime win over New Orleans.
David West, a first-round draft pick of the Hornets in 2003, scored 16 points and had seven rebounds in his first game against his former team. Paul George totaled 20 points and Darren Collison ended with 18, eight rebounds and six assists in Indiana's third straight win -- all at home.
Danny Granger had 14 points, including five in overtime, for the Pacers, who held a 54-36 edge in points in the paint.
"In the overtime, we had a couple of putbacks and it was just being aggressive and having toughness on our part," West said.
Tonight they face a struggling Bobcats team that they beat on Sunday by 35 points, 108-73.
Just two days earlier the Bobcats had halted a franchise-worst 16-game losing streak with a win at Toronto, but they trailed by as many as 44 on Sunday to Indiana.
Derrick Brown led the way with 16 points while Kemba Walker added 15 and five assists for Charlotte, which returns home tonight after a three-game road stretch. It is just 2-11, though, in its building.
"The way we started pretty much set the tone for the whole game," Bobcats guard Boris Diaw said. "We were just behind and trying to come back into the game, but it was too late."
Indiana has beaten the Bobcats twice already this season and has won eight straight and nine of the last 10 meetings in the series. The Pacers have also won three of their last four in Charlotte.
