Pacers beat Bobcats again

Feb 23, 2012 - 4:38 AM Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Tyler Hansbrough scored 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds off the bench as the Pacers dominated the Bobcats for the second time in four days, winning 102-88 at Time Warner Cable Arena on Wednesday.

"Our depth is big for us," Hansbrough said. "It's good to know you have some guys that can come off the bench that can do some work. I feel like our second unit, when we get in there, we're not taking anything away. We're just trying to build the lead."

Six Pacers scored in double figures, including 12 from Danny Granger, and 10 points apiece from Darren Collison, Paul George and Dahntay Jones. A.J. Price added 11 off the bench for the Pacers, who matched a season-high four-game win streak.

Corey Maggette paced the Bobcats with 20 points and D.J. Augustin netted 15. Kemba Walker chipped in 14 as Charlotte has now lost 18 of its last 19 games, and nine straight against the Pacers.

The Pacers responded, scoring 10 of the next 12 points, as a Hansbrough three- point play reestablished an eight-point cushion for the visitors with just over three minutes to go in the frame.

Walker finished the quarter with two free throws to trim the deficit to 10, 78-68, heading into the fourth.

D.J. White started the fourth quarter with a jumper to bring the Bobcats within eight, but Indiana scored the next 11 points to take a convincing 89-70 lead with 7:47 left in the contest.

The Pacers cruised the rest of the way en route to a double-digit victory.

"We got shots but we didn't make them early on and they did," said Bobcats head coach Paul Silas. "We just have to take this upon ourselves to play tougher. Hopefully we will come with more effort and energy. We must because we can't continue to play like this."

Bismack Biyombo blocked Collison's layup attempt and Augustin rewarded him on the other end for the fastbreak dunk to cap a 13-3 run, giving the home team a 19-10 lead late in the first quarter.

Charlotte held a 28-23 edge after 12 minutes of play.

After a Walker triple made it a 40-38 game, Indiana reeled off 12 straight points, including two three-pointers to take a 50-40 advantage with just under two minutes to go.

Cory Maggette would add a layup to conclude the scoring, as the Pacers took a 50-42 lead into the locker room.

The Pacers will play again on February 28 when they host Golden State, while the Bobcats resume action on February 29 in Detroit...The Pacers outrebounded the Bobcats by a 57-46 margin.
