Jazz set for showdown with Kings

Mar 22, 2012 - 2:39 PM (Sports Network) - The streaking Utah Jazz take their playoff push to Sacramento on Thursday for a meeting with the Kings.

The Jazz have won four straight games, including Tuesday's big 97-90 win over Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City at Energy Solutions Arena. Paul Millsap scored 20 points to lead six Utah players in double figures as the Jazz held off the Thunder in that one.

Al Jefferson tallied 16 points, Devin Harris added 15, and Gordon Hayward and Jamal Tinsley netted 11 points apiece for the Jazz. C.J. Miles finished with 10 points to help Utah, which is just a half-game behind Houston for the final postseason spot in the West.

"These guys have continued to work hard, stay together and depend on each other and support each other," said Utah head coach Tyrone Corbin. "We have had a few great wins as of late here. I am just really proud of the effort we are getting from both sides right now."

Sacramento, which will be finishing up a franchise record nine-game homestand tonight, has also been playing better basketball of late and won its third straight game on Tuesday, a 119-110 decision over Memphis.

Marcus Thornton erupted for 31 points and also had seven rebounds, six assists and three steals as the Kings defeated the Grizzlies.

DeMarcus Cousins poured in 23 points and rookie Isaiah Thomas netted 18 with seven assists for Sacramento, which is 5-3 on the residency. Jason Thompson contributed a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double in the victory.

"We are just trusting each other and being very unselfish," said Thomas. "There's a lot of plays where guys have open shots."

These teams have split a pair of meetings so far this season with each holding serve on its home court.
