Felton, Aldridge lead Blazers over Warriors

Mar 26, 2012 - 5:05 AM Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Raymond Felton scored a season-high 24 points and handed out seven assists as the Trail Blazers edged the Warriors, 90-87, on Sunday.

LaMarcus Aldridge's 18 points included the go-ahead fadeaway jumper in the final minute and he also contributed nine rebounds while Nicholas Batum recorded 17 points and eight boards for Portland, which has won two of three.

Charles Jenkins, a rookie starting in place of the injured Nate Robinson, netted a career-high 27 points to pace Golden State. David Lee posted 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors, who have dropped two of three.

After the visitors took an 85-80 lead late in the fourth on back-to-back three-pointers from Brandon Rush, Wesley Matthews hit a pair of free-throws, Felton drained a trey and Matthews made another 1-of-2 from the line to restore Portland's edge.

Lee tipped in Jenkins' miss to give Golden State a brief advantage before Aldridge knocked down his turnaround jumper for the game's 15th and final lead change.

He netted 2-of-2 from the charity stripe a bit later to seal the victory.

"We were able to get the necessary stops and get the buckets when we needed to," said Matthews. "They were shooting well, Jenkins had a great game, and we were still able to overcome it."

Jenkins scored 13 of his points on 6-of-7 shooting in the first half as the Warriors raced out to a 47-40 advantage at the break.

But the Blazers erupted for 29 points in the third quarter while holding their opponents to just 38.9 percent shooting in the frame, as they turned an eight- point deficit into the six-point edge, 69-63, they would take into the final stanza.

"We had a gameplan coming in of Raymond Felton hitting 24 percent or 25 percent from the three, and to his credit he hit shots in the second half and that was really the difference in the game," said Lee.

Game Notes

Robinson strained a hamstring in Golden State's win over Sacramento on Saturday... Rush and Richard Jefferson finished with 10 and 14 points, respectively, for Golden State, while Matthews had 10 for the hosts...Jenkins' old career-high in points was 15...The Warriors committed 14 turnovers while the Blazers had just seven.
