Jazz top Warriors

Apr 7, 2012 - 4:33 AM Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Al Jefferson had 30 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks, as the Utah Jazz took down the Golden State Warriors, 104-98.

Devin Harris added a season-high 28 points and five assists in his return to the lineup for the Jazz, who have won two of three since a three-game skid. Gordon Hayward and Paul Millsap donated 14 and 12 points, respectively.

"We just played, we had to play the whole 48 minutes," Jefferson said. "We made some mistakes, they made us fight, but we just kept pounding the ball inside. Devin got hot and hit some outside shots, so they had to play honest, and we came out with the victory."

David Lee ended with 26 points and 12 boards for the Warriors, who failed to build off Wednesday's win over Minnesota. Klay Thompson tallied 23 points and five rebounds.

Harris started the fourth frame with a pair of three-pointers and a layup to give Utah an 86-80 lead.

Golden State stayed within striking distance and went on a 7-0 flurry late. Lee made a jumper prior to Thompson's jumper and three-pointer, which cut the gap to 96-93 with 2:58 to play.

But Utah responded with a 6-0 spurt to put the game away. Jefferson, Millsap and Hayward all made jumpers during the flurry to give the Jazz a 102-93 margin with 1:26 left.

"Well I think they had two weapons the entire night," Lee said. "Al played a great game inside and the big thing that killed us, it seems like every time it got close Devin Harris, who is a streaky three-point shooter but can get it get going, definitely got it going in the second half and made a bunch of big shots."

Neither team led by more than four in a first quarter that featured 11 lead changes and five ties. Utah took a 28-27 lead into the second.

The Warriors made four three-pointers during a 16-2 run to start the second frame. Richard Jefferson's two free throws made it 43-30 with 7:12 to go.

But the Spurs stormed back with an ensuing 25-10 run to go back in front. Hayward's two free throws made it 55-53, but Lee stopped the burst with a layup to tie the game at the half.

Neither team led by more than four in the third quarter. Golden State took an 80-78 margin into the fourth.
