Bucks return home to entertain Cavaliers

Nov 3, 2012 - 2:59 PM (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks are aiming for their best start in seven years when they open their home schedule tonight versus the Central Division-rival Cleveland Cavaliers at the Bradley Center.

Milwaukee hasn't opened a campaign with back-to-back wins since a 3-0 start in 2005-06 and kicked off the season last night in a 99-88 victory at Boston.

Brandon Jennings led six players in double figures with 21 points and a game- high 13 assists for the Bucks, who made 46.5 percent from the floor and missed just one of their 12 free throws.

Tobias Harris added 18 points and Monta Ellis scored 14 for Milwaukee, which had lost five in a row in season openers. Larry Sanders, Ekpe Udoh and Beno Udrih each contributed 10 points off the bench in the win.

"We were aggressive on both ends, we were competitive, we were quick to loose balls and overall played very well," said Bucks head coach Scott Skiles. "I was just really happy with the energy we came out with tonight."

The Bucks will play two straight and three of four home games.

Cleveland has split its first two games of the season and suffered a 115-86 loss versus Chicago last night in the finale of a season-opening two-game homestand. The Cavs, though, defeated Washington on Tuesday.

In last night's loss, reigning Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving scored 15 points and both Alonzo Gee and Anderson Varejao added 12 for the Cavaliers.

While the Bulls made 63.8 percent from the floor, the Cavs shot 40.5 percent and made only 8-of-20 3-pointers.

"That's what you call a good, old fashioned butt-whooping," said Cleveland head coach Byron Scott. "I told the guys at the beginning of the game and again at halftime that you have to come hard all the time if you want to stand a chance against the good teams, and we didn't tonight."

The Cavs are opening a six-game, 11-day road trip Saturday against the Bucks, Clippers, Warriors, Suns, Thunder and Nets. They were only 10-23 away from Quicken Loans Arena a season ago.

Cleveland lost all four meetings with Milwaukee last season and is winless in the past seven matchups between the Central foes. The Cavs also have dropped five in a row as the guest in this series.
