Comfort Zone: Mavs return to Big D, host Warriors

Nov 19, 2012 - 3:42 PM (Sports Network) - After snapping their pesky road losing streak, the Dallas Mavericks aim to build on their excellent mark so far at home on Monday night as they play host to the Golden State Warriors.

The Mavs are 4-1 as the host and play their next three games at American Airlines Center. They do so having snapped a four-game road slide on Saturday with a 103-95 triumph at the Cleveland Cavaliers.

O.J. Mayo paced six Mavericks players in double figures with 19 points, while Chris Kaman logged 15 points, eight rebounds and a season-high six blocks for a Dallas club that had lost four of five overall. Shawn Marion, playing in his second straight game after missing five in a row with a sprained left MCL, had his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes of work.

Darren Collison and Vince Carter each contributed 14 points to the winning effort, which saw Dallas use a pair of 9-0 runs in the fourth to eventually pull away.

"We can man-up, stick together and do it the hard way and help each other or the thinking goes south. The guys got it done together," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said.

The Warriors come into this game at an even 5-5 after having a two-game win streak halted with Sunday's 119-109 defeat to the hosting Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant logged his first career triple-double and Russell Westbrook dropped 30 points on the Warriors.

Stephen Curry recorded 22 points with six assists and David Lee finished with 19 points, 10 boards and five assists for the Warriors.

"You give up 119 points. That's not going to cut it," said Curry, whose 3- pointer midway through the fourth quarter pulled Golden State to within 105-98 and gave the club brief hope before Oklahoma City pulled away.

Not helping the Warriors was that the Thunder went 13-for-20 from 3-point range while Golden State ended just 5-for-16. Curry made four of those.

Golden State's Richard Jefferson left Sunday's loss with a right calf strain and is questionable for this contest.

The Mavericks have won eight of their last 10 versus the Warriors as well as four straight and eight of the past nine encounters in Dallas.

In fact, since Golden State upset top-seeded Dallas as the No. 8 seed in the 2007 playoffs, the Mavericks have won 13 of the last 18 meetings.
