Wade helps Heat burn Pistons

Jan 26, 2013 - 4:39 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade poured in 29 points and dished out seven assists to pace Miami to a 110-88 win over Detroit, with the Heat getting revenge for a loss to the Pistons earlier this season.

LeBron James added 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Miami, which has won four in a row. Chris Bosh totaled 14 points and seven boards and Ray Allen chipped in 11 points for the Heat, who shot 55.8 percent from the field.

Greg Monroe had 31 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pistons, who have lost back-to-back contests. Will Bynum scored 13 points for Detroit, which beat Miami, 109-99, on Dec. 28 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Heat, who moved to 18-3 at home, were behind 31-30 after one quarter as the Pistons made their final seven shots of the opening period. Miami, though, got 17 points from Wade in the second quarter. He made 7-of-9 shots in the period, in which Miami shot 65 percent.

Austin Daye's bank shot moved the Pistons to a 41-32 lead as they opened the period on an 10-2 burst. Miami answered shortly thereafter with a 20-2 surge, during which Wade scored 13 points.

"As we sharpen up our offensive set, he's starting to find sets that are suitable to him," said Bosh of Wade. "He's ready to get going back at it again."

A free throw from James with 2:39 left in the half capped the rally and gave Miami a 54-45 advantage. It led 60-51 at the break.

"[The Heat] turned up the pressure and got right up into our air space and we did not handle it very well," said Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank. "There are just certain things from a preparation standpoint that we have to take more pride in and we did not do those things tonight."

Miami was up by double digits most of the third quarter and carried an 84-68 advantage into the fourth.

Between quarters, a fan made a half-court shot to win $75,000. The fan, who used a one-handed hook shot to win the prize, was then hugged by a rushing James and two fell to the floor in celebration.

The Pistons never got within single digits in the final period.
