Red-hot Nuggets visit Kings

Mar 5, 2013 - 3:41 PM (Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets will carry their five-game winning streak into Sacramento Tuesday night when they face the Kings at Sleep Train Arena.

The Nuggets also picked up their 11th straight home win Monday night when they pulled away from the Atlanta Hawks en route to a 104-88 victory. It was the sixth straight game over 100 points for Denver.

Western Conference Player of the Week Ty Lawson had 18 points and eight assists for the Nuggets. Andre Iguodala and Kenneth Faried both scored in double figures, but once again, it was Denver's bench that was outstanding.

Nuggets' reserves combined for 50 points, including 22 from Corey Brewer and 13 from Wilson Chandler. JaVale McGee had nine and Andre Miller only managed four, but dished out nine assists. Timofey Mozgov added the other bucket in garbage time.

Last time out, in a 105-103 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, the bench tallied 71 points, which was the most Nuggets bench points since Mar. 16, 2008.

"You've got four guys coming off the bench who have started in this league for multiple years. It's not like we don't know how to play," Brewer said. "We're pretty good together. It's always good when we get in the game."

The Kings have not been great lately, losing six of their last eight, but Sacramento won its last time out.

The Kings buried the Charlotte Bobcats, 119-83 on Sunday. The Kings took a 14- point lead into halftime, then exploded in the third quarter to the tune of a 43-19 drubbing.

At several different points in the fourth quarter, the Kings led by an astonishing 43 points.

John Salmons led six Kings players in double figures with 22 points. He has been hot lately, going 19-for-28 from long distance in his last five.

"We moved the ball (well)," Salmons said. "We had multiple guys in double figures, and every time you have a stat sheet like that usually you win the game."

Jason Thompson had a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Thornton scored 18 in less than 20 minutes and DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans and Isaiah Thomas also cracked the 10-point mark.

The Kings play six of their next eight in California's capital city.

The Nuggets have won seven in a row in this series, including both of this season's matchups. Sacramento has won 24 of 30 at home against the Nuggets.
