Warriors visit Big Easy for date with Hornets

The Warriors opened the road swing with a 108-78 blasting of the Houston Rockets on Sunday and received 29 points and 11 assists from Steph Curry. Klay Thompson added 26 points. Andrew Bogut posted 12 and 12 rebounds for Golden State, which has won three of four and five of the last eight games.
"I thought we were great," Golden State coach Mark Jackson said. "Obviously, you can play the same defense, and (the Rockets) make shots. At the end of the day, we were alert, aware, we paid attention to details, we contested shots, we protected the paint, we rebounded. It was just a thing of beauty."
David Lee had 10 points and 10 boards for the Warriors, who are 16-20 as the visitor and sixth in the Western Conference standings.
Golden State will close out the swing Wednesday at San Antonio.
Meanwhile, the Hornets will commence a seven-game homestand Monday and are 12-20 on the banks of the Mississippi.
New Orleans has lost three in a row and six of seven games, including Sunday's 97-95 setback at Minnesota in the finale of a three-game road trip. Greivis Vasquez tallied 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Robin Lopez finished 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets.
The Hornets committed 20 turnovers in defeat.
"Well 20 turnovers didn't help. But we had a chance to win the game. We were up by four and we fouled a guy going to the basket and we give them a three- point play," Hornets coach Monty Williams said. "You can't explain that kind of stuff. Then we have the ball and a chance to score a bucket and we can't score. I thought Eric (Gordon) had a good look, but he goes to the hole and gets his shot blocked."
New Orleans will also host the Celtics, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Clippers, Heat and Cavaliers on the homestand.
The Hornets have lost both meetings with Golden State this season and four of the past six matchups between the teams. Golden State has won three straight trips to the Big Easy.
