The Warriors, who recently had lost nine of their last 10 road games, have now won two in a row away from home. David Lee chipped in a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Klay Thompson contributed 13 points in the victory.
Ryan Anderson had a team-leading 21 points to go with nine rebounds in New Orleans' third defeat to the Warriors this season. Losers in 11 of 14 games overall, Anthony Davis scored 16 and Greivis Vasquez notched 14 points with nine assists.
"We just didn't hit the shots," said Anderson, who was 7-for-19 from the field. "I had some good looks that just didn't fall."
The Hornets trailed 69-61 entering the final stanza and were still within eight just over six minutes through on a triple from Vasquez, however it all fell apart from there.
The Warriors held New Orleans scoreless the rest of the way to close out the contest on 13-0 run. The Hornets were 0-for-9 in the final 5:50 of play.
"Our defense was pretty good tonight. It kept us with a lead," said Lee. "In the second half, I thought that that was one of our better jobs of executing down the stretch."
Curry got going right away, scoring 10 of the Warriors' 19 points in the first quarter, but it was New Orleans which led by three going into the second.
With the teams tied at 34-34 with five minutes until halftime, Thompson broke the deadlock with a 3-pointer to begin a quarter-ending 11-2 push to send the Warriors into the break with a nine-point advantage.
Their lead swelled to 57-44 on Curry's second triple of the third and after seven straight points from Anderson later on in the period, Thompson brought Golden State's edge back to double-digits with a triple at the 1:30 mark.
A pair of free throws by the Hornets' Brian Roberts kept them within eight going into the fourth.
