Celtics' Garnett out against Miami
Mar 18, 2013 - 11:18 PM Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett has been ruled out of Monday's game against the red-hot Miami Heat.Garnett has the flu and has been dealing with an adductor strain in his left thigh, which forced him to sit out Saturday's contest.
"He's sick really. He has a terrible flu. It's not the injury. But with the injury (and being sick) it's just too much to play," Boston head coach Doc Rivers said through the Celtics' Twitter account.
The Heat have won 22 straight games, which is tied for the second longest winning streak in NBA history.
The 36-year-old Garnett is averaging 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season. Boston is 2-0 without him this season.
