LeBron James added 18 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Heat, who have won three straight since beginning the year 1-2.
"We made a lot of plays. The intensity, you could see it pick up in the second half," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Chris Bosh, who played for the first time since the birth of his child earlier in the week, finished with 12 points in the victory
Blake Griffin tallied 27 points and 14 boards, Chris Paul registered 11 points and 12 assists and DeAndre Jordan netted 11 points to go with 14 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped back-to-back tilts on the heels of a three-game winning streak.
"I thought in the first half that we dictated the pace. You can see that in the third quarter, they slowed the game down but then we slowed the game down with them," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said.
A pair of Paul free throws staked the Clippers a 68-64 advantage a little past the midway point of the third before the Heat responded with an elongated 27-12 run that bridged into the final frame.
Miami took a 76-73 cushion into the fourth and Wade, who had 11 points in the stanza, had nine during the surge, which was capped on Shane Battier's right corner triple for a 91-80 Heat lead with 7:48 left.
Griffin had six straight LA points during a 6-2 flurry that pulled the Clippers within 99-93 with 1:42 remaining. After Ray Allen and Paul traded buckets, James was called for a travel. Griffin's dunk whittled the gap to 101-97 with 31 ticks to play, but he allowed James to run 15 seconds off the clock without fouling him on Miami's ensuing possession.
James split the pair and Paul missed a trey at the other end to seal the outcome.
Earlier, Los Angeles raced out to a 10-2 start and Willie Green's jumper at the first quarter buzzer gave the Clippers a 31-28 edge after a quarter of play.
The Clippers took a 56-52 spread into the break. Paul had nine helpers in the opening half.
