Blazers aim for two in a row against the Kings

Nov 9, 2013 - 4:26 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Portland Trail Blazers will try to sweep a home-and- home series with the Sacramento Kings Saturday night when the two meet at Sleep Train Arena.

The Blazers creamed the Kings, 104-91 in Portland Friday night. Portland has scored over 100 points in their last four games and three of those resulted in wins.

Damian Lillard was sensational on Friday and has been all season. He netted 22 points on 4-for-9 3-point shooting and collected seven assists and eight rebounds.

Lillard is the first NBA player to ever record 100 points, 25 rebounds, 25 assists and 20 3-pointers in his team's first five games. He joined Damon Stoudamire as only the second NBA player ever to record three or more 3- pointers in each of his team's first five games.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

"We rely on them to do a lot at both ends of the floor," head coach Terry Stotts said of his two stars. "Damian makes plays, LA makes plays. We went to LA on the block in the fourth quarter. Damian is picking his spots. I thought we had a good performance by a lot of players."

Nicolas Batum, Robin Lopez, Wesley Matthews and Thomas Robinson all scored in double figures.

DeMarcus Cousins was exceptional on Friday. He had 35 points on 13-for-25 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds and had four steals.

"The numbers don't mean anything with a loss. Forget the numbers, I'm worried about the win," said Cousins. "We gotta correct this, we can't continue to make the same mistakes."

Isaiah Thomas, Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Travis Outlaw all cracked the 10-point plateau, though none had more than 13 points.

The Kings committed just 11 turnovers and seven of those came from Cousins and Thomas. Sacramento got pounded on the glass by the Blazers to the tune of 47-31.

Sacramento has dropped four in a row since beating the Denver Nuggets on opening night.

Portland has won six of its last nine in California's capital.
