Warriors, Jazz take action to Salt Lake City
Nov 18, 2013 - 3:50 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz will meet for the second time in three days Monday night when the action shifts to EnergySolutions Arena.On Saturday, at Oracle Arena, the Warriors throttled Utah, 102-88. Golden State shot 51.3 percent from the field and forced 19 Jazz turnovers en route to a third straight victory for Golden State and a second consecutive loss for the Jazz.
The Warriors went to 5-0 at home.
"The teams that have truly successful years, they take care of business at home," said Warriors head coach Mark Jackson. "That's the first thing to being a good team. We are learning that and hopefully will keep it going."
Klay Thompson led the way with 25 points. Andre Iguodala had 16 points, six rebounds and four steals, while Steph Curry notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.
David Lee scored 13 points and Andrew Bogut also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Harrison Barnes netted 11 off the bench.
Jermaine O'Neal left the game Saturday after he injured his right leg. Golden State announced the preliminary diagnosis of the injury was a right knee sprain and right groin strain. He is not expected to play on Monday.
The Jazz have dropped two straight since finally get that first win of the season last week against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Derrick Favors paced the Jazz with 17 points and seven rebounds in the loss to the Warriors. Gordon Hayward and Marvin Williams each had 14 points and Richard Jefferson and Enes Kanter also scored in double figures.
"We dug ourselves too big of a hole there," Hayward said. "They run their offense pretty well."
The Jazz don't.
Utah ranks 30th in the NBA in scoring at 88.7 points per game.
The Warriors have lost five of their last seven in Salt Lake City.
