Pacers shoot for 11th win in Boston
Nov 22, 2013 - 3:15 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The chances of the Boston Celtics ending their five-game losing streak are slim with the Indiana Pacers in town Friday night. The Celtics lost all three games on their recent road trip and consecutive loss No. 5 came via a 104-93 setback in San Antonio on Wednesday. Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Avery Bradley all scored 19 points for Boston, which is 4-9 on the season and committed 17 turnovers for 25 Spurs points.
Sullinger also added a career-high 17 rebounds to his totals.
"They're a tough team to play because any given night anyone could go off," Sullinger said of the Spurs. "They move the ball and could care less about scoring. They play together as a team."
Boston has dropped two in a row at TD Garden.
The Pacers are 10-1 on the season and coming off a 103-96 overtime win against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
Paul George netted a game-high 35 points and George Hill scored 23 for Indiana, which held on despite shooting 37.9 percent. The Pacers caught a huge break at the end of regulation, as George made three free throws with 5.2 seconds remaining after Iman Shumpert fouled him behind the 3-point line.
"It wasn't even about me looking for shots," George said after playing a career-high 49 minutes. "I just wanted to create and get the best shot for us."
Indiana then scored 14 of the 21 points in overtime and rebounded from its lone loss of the season at Chicago last Saturday.
David West posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana, which made 28 of its 36 foul shots and is 10-1 after 11 games for the first time since 2002-03. Indiana shot less than 40 percent from the floor for the first time this season at New York.
The Pacers will close out a three-game road trip Friday and are 4-1 as the visitor this season.
Indiana lost both meetings with Boston last season and is winless in the previous four games between the teams. The Celtics are 15-5 in the past 20 matchups with the Pacers and 9-1 in the last 10 at home.
