Bucks hope to end 10-game skid at Charlotte
Nov 29, 2013 - 3:40 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to halt a 10-game losing streak Friday night when they visit Time Warner Cable Arena to face the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bucks haven't tasted victory since a home contest over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 6. During that time, Milwaukee dropped five straight away from home.
It's the Bucks' longest skid since dropping 15 straight, March 4-30, 1996.
Milwaukee's most recent setback was a 100-92 overtime loss at home Wednesday to the Washington Wizards. O.J. Mayo of the Bucks tied it with a long 3- pointer with 6.9 seconds in regulation, but Marcin Gortat and Trevor Ariza led Washington in the extra session.
"It shouldn't have gotten to overtime to be honest, we just made some bad plays down the stretch," said Milwaukee head coach Larry Drew. "You just have to make plays down the stretch in a game that close and we didn't."
Mayo led the Bucks with 21 points, followed by 13 from Khris Middleton, who is still in the starting lineup for Milwaukee. Ersan Ilyasova chipped in 12 points and Gary Neal had 10 off the bench.
The Bobcats lost their second in a row on Wednesday when they fell, 99-74 in Indianapolis. The Pacers held Charlotte to 31.3 percent shooting from the field.
"They're so good and so big, we didn't get any easy ones tonight," said Charlotte head coach Steve Clifford.
Only three Bobcats scored in double figures against the Pacers. Al Jefferson paced Charlotte with 16 points, followed by 15 from Kemba Walker and 10 from Gerald Henderson.
Friday's game will end a three-game homestand for the Bobcats. They'll hit the road on Sunday in Miami, then visit Philadelphia.
The Bobcats toppled the Bucks, 96-72 in Milwaukee last Saturday. Only two Bucks - Middleton and John Henson - scored in double figures as five Bobcats cracked the 10-point mark.
The Bucks have lost seven of their last eight and nine of their last 12 in Charlotte.
