Depleted Bulls visit Milwaukee

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls haven't played well as of late and look to find some success Friday on the road versus the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bulls have lost three in a row and nine of their last 11 games, including Wednesday's 83-78 setback at New York. Mike Dunleavy led the Bulls with 20 points, while Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson scored 12 apiece.

Chicago almost rallied from a 23-point deficit and played without forward Luol Deng for a third straight game because of tightness in left calf and a swollen left Achilles. Deng leads the team with 19.4 ppg and has scored 20 or more points in six straight games, averaging 26.2 points in that time.

Deng is just one of three players (Kevin Durant, Kevin Love) posting averages of 19.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 4.0 apg this season and is listed as questionable for Friday's game in Milwaukee.

"It's real tough right now," Gibson said of his team dealing with the injuries. "We're just trying to find a way to win."

The Bulls are just 2-9 outside the Windy City this season.

Milwaukee has alternated wins and losses in its last five games and dropped a 109-77 decision in San Antonio on Wednesday. The Spurs jumped out to an 18- point lead during the first quarter and never trailed.

Rookie Nate Wolters tallied 18 points with seven assists and first-year player Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 15 points.

"He's (Antetokounmpo) going to be a special player," praised Wolters. "He's fun to play with just because he's so unselfish. We get out on the break and you can basically throw it up anywhere and he'll go get it."

Milwaukee's starting five combined for just 19 points on 7-for-28 shooting, as Brandon Knight led the bunch with eight points. John Henson, who had scored in double figures in six straight games and was averaging 16.3 ppg in that time, was limited to four points on 2-of-6 shooting in 20 minutes (20:37).

The Bucks have lost three in a row at home and are 2-9 in Brew City. They just defeated the Bulls, 78-74, on Tuesday at the United Center, where Henson and Knight scored 25 and 19 points, respectively. Dunleavy had 24 points in that one and Boozer added 21 for the Bulls, who have won 10 of 13 in this series.

Chicago is unbeaten in the last six road matchups with Milwaukee.
