Suns go for fifth straight win versus Warriors

Dec 15, 2013 - 3:54 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns look to extend their season-high winning streak to five games when they continue a three-game homestand Sunday versus the Golden State Warriors.

The Suns made it four wins in a row with Friday's 116-107 triumph over the Sacramento Kings, as Goran Dragic scored 29 points and Eric Bledsoe followed with a career-high 28.

Dragic finished 10-of-14 shooting and Bledsoe ended 11-of-16 from the field for Phoenix, which shot 49.4 percent and made 12-of-24 3-pointers.

Miles Plumlee (12), Channing Frye (11) and both P.J. Tucker (10) and Gerald Green (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers.

"It's never about one guy," Dragic said of the Suns' balanced scoring attack. "The more people we get involved, the better. That's what I try to do every time we play and I think we did that tonight."

Phoenix, which has won eight of its last 11 games and has made at least seven 3-pointers in 14 straight games, improved to 7-3 at home and will face a stiff challenge Wednesday versus the San Antonio Spurs.

The Suns are 10-3 this season when scoring 100 or more points. They've also won 11 straight games and 18 of the last 19 when scoring 110-plus points at home.

Golden State had won four of six games until suffering a 116-112 loss versus the Houston Rockets on Friday. David Lee tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds and Steph Curry had 20 points and nine assists for the Warriors. Harrison Barnes added 20 points as well to go along with 12 rebounds, while Marreese Speights and Klay Thompson netted 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Houston scored 22 points off 18 Warrior turnovers. It was a tough loss for a Golden State squad that had a 56-32 rebounding edge and a 66-40 advantage in points in the paint. The Warriors recorded a 25-8 difference in second chance points.

"Too many careless untimely turnovers when it mattered most," Golden State head coach Mark Jackson said.

Lee has registered four straight double-doubles and has scored in double figures in a career-best 100 consecutive games.

Golden State is 6-8 on the road and will start a three-game homestand Tuesday versus New Orleans, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors took all four meetings with Phoenix a season ago and are unbeaten in the past six encounters between Pacific Division foes. Golden State has won three in a row in the Valley of the Sun after a 13-game slide there.
