Jazz clash with Bobcats in Salt Lake City

Dec 30, 2013 - 4:24 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Utah Jazz will try to continue their dominance of the Charlotte Bobcats when the two clubs clash Monday in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz defeated Charlotte, 88-85, last Saturday and have won nine straight, 10 of 11 and 13 of the 18 meetings between the teams.

Utah has won the last six meetings with the Bobcats at home.

The Jazz have alternated wins and losses in their last seven games and dropped a 98-90 decision at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. Enes Kanter paced Utah with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Richard Jefferson and Marvin Williams contributed 15 points apiece.

Trey Burke scored 12 points to go along with six assists in the loss.

"We had turnovers and errant passes down the stretch and they went on an 8-0 run to finish the game," said Utah head coach Tyrone Corbin. "Give Blake credit, we made him work. I can't say enough about this team, our guys are getting better."

Utah is 4-10 as the host and will welcome Milwaukee to town on Thursday.

Charlotte will resume a five-game road trip Monday and suffered a 118-116 overtime loss at Atlanta on Saturday.

Former Jazz star Al Jefferson led Charlotte with 24 points and 23 rebounds, while Gerald Henderson added 22 points. Kemba Walker finished with 16 points and five assists for the Bobcats, who have lost three of their last four games.

"We got a nice lead in the third but we knew they were going to make a run like all teams do at home," said Jefferson.

The Bobcats are 6-7 away from home and will also visit the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland and Sacramento on the trip.
