Bulls put win streak on line with Bobcats in town

Jan 11, 2014 - 3:19 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls look to match a season-high in consecutive wins when they play back-to-back games at home, starting with Saturday's test with the Charlotte Bobcats at the United Center.

The Bulls have won four in a row and last posted five straight wins from Nov. 8-18. They are coming off Friday's 81-72 victory at Milwaukee, as Carlos Boozer returned to action and had 19 points to go with 13 rebounds. He had missed two straight games with a knee issue.

"We were just trying to contest shots, trying to rebound and make them shoot over our hands, and it worked out," said Boozer.

Mike Dunleavy scored 18 points and Taj Gibson added 12 off the bench. The Bulls prevailed despite shooting 38.7 percent from the floor and got 10 points from Jimmy Butler.

Chicago has won three in a row at home and will also host Washington. It is 10-7 at the United Center this season.

The Bobcats will close out a quick trip Saturday and have lost five of their last six road games. They fell to 7-11 away from home with Friday's 119-92 drubbing at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Anthony Tolliver led Charlotte with 21 points off the bench and Chris Douglas- Roberts recorded 16 points. Kemba Walker scored 15 points for the Bobcats, who have dropped two in a row and seven of their last eight games. The Bobcats trailed 88-57 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter and never got closer than 23 the rest of the way.

"They set the tone for the game with their drives and offensive rebounds, but they scored right away in the paint, which is their game," Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said of the Wolves.

Gerald Henderson had 12 points in defeat.

Charlotte sustained an 86-81 setback in Chicago on Nov. 18 and has lost 10 of the previous 13 contests in this series. The Bulls are also 10-3 in the past 13 meetings between the teams at the United Center.
