Nets crush Knicks

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Joe Johnson netted 20 of his 25 points in the first half and the Brooklyn Nets routed the New York Knicks 103-80 on Monday afternoon.

Andray Blatche tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets, who have won seven of their last eight games. Alan Anderson scored 15 points and Deron Williams added 13 in the triumph.

"We're putting games together, we're putting quarters together," Nets forward Paul Pierce said. "We're being more consistent."

Carmelo Anthony had 26 points and 12 rebounds for New York, which has dropped four straight on the heels of a five-game winning streak.

"On the defensive end we were just scrambling," Anthony said.

The Knicks shot a season-low 33.8 percent (24-of-71) from the field.

It was 12-10 in favor of Brooklyn early on before the Nets began to pull away with an 11-2 run. Johnson had seven points during the surge, including a jumper to cap it for a 23-12 cushion.

Brooklyn led 27-18 after a quarter of play and Mirza Teletovic's jumper concluded a 7-0 flurry to extend the margin to 37-21.

The Nets took a 52-38 lead into the break and a 71-55 advantage into the fourth, where they cruised to the easy win.

New York never whittled the deficit below eight in the second half.

The Nets shot 49.3 percent (37-of-75) from the floor and 36.8 percent (14- of-38) from beyond the arc ... Monday was New York's fifth loss this season by 20-or-more points ... The Knicks fell to 1-21 when trailing to start the fourth.
