Pistons, Magic tussle in Orlando

Feb 5, 2014 - 3:45 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Pistons will close out their tour through the Sunshine State when they visit the Orlando Magic Wednesday at Amway Center.

The Pistons are coming off Monday's 102-96 setback to the Miami Heat, as Brandon Jennings led Detroit with 26 points, Rodney Stuckey added 20 and Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond both recorded double-doubles in a losing effort.

Monroe had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Drummond ended with 12 points and 12 boards for the Pistons, who had a two-game winning streak stopped.

"Against a great team like this and on the road, you got to be a little bit more conscious of the turnovers," said Pistons forward Josh Smith, who had 12 points in the setback.

Detroit, which had 21 turnovers against the Heat, has lost three in a row on the road and is 10-13 as the visitor this season.

Orlando will open a four-game homestand Wednesday versus Detroit, Oklahoma City, Indiana and Memphis, and is 10-14 in central Florida this season.

The Magic have lost two in a row and five of six games, including Monday's 98-79 setback to the Pacers. Arron Afflalo scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half to pace the Magic, who have lost 12 straight road games. Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and 13 rebounds in the setback.

"They were just more active on their tags and in disguising their defense. They did a great job of making us shoot tough shots," Magic rookie guard Victor Oladipo said. "We missed a lot of shots we normally make. That's something we need to learn from and bounce back."

In injury news for the Magic, veteran guard Jameer Nelson (knee) is questionable Wednesday.

Orlando and Detroit have split two meetings already this season. These two teams have split the last 16 meetings at Amway Center.
