The Warriors have lost two of the first three matchups with Phoenix, but is 7-2 in the last nine games in this series.
Phoenix has lost four straight and 10 of 15 trips to Golden State.
Golden State opened a three-game homestand with Friday's 111-97 victory over the slumping Atlanta Hawks, as David Lee paced the victors with 18 points and six rebounds. Jermaine O'Neal provided 17 points and eight rebounds, while Stephen Curry added 13 points and seven assists for Golden State, which has won three straight and eight of its last 10.
"We're chasing greatness," Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said. "It's a great time. And if nobody else knows it, we know it."
The Warriors, seeded sixth in the West, are 19-10 at home and will close the residency Tuesday versus Dallas. Warriors guard Klay Thompson is probable Sunday with a back issue and is averaging 17.8 points.
Phoenix is seventh in the West and has won three of four games, including Thursday's 128-122 victory over Oklahoma City.
Gerald Green set career highs with 41 points and eight 3-pointers. Markieff Morris contributed 24 points, Goran Dragic tallied 22 and Marcus Morris added 15 points for the Suns, who erased a 16-point third quarter deficit with a huge run that bled into the fourth quarter.
The Suns stopped an 11-game slide to the Thunder and held on despite giving up 70 points to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
"These guys have done that all year," Phoenix head coach Jeff Hornacek said of his team's effort. "They get down and keep playing. And then you have a guy like Gerald get hot. (The Thunder) are a great team. We have to play like that to barely beat them."
Phoenix shot 52.5 percent and sank 15-of-27 3-pointers.
The Suns are 14-13 on the road and will visit the Los Angeles Clippers Monday.
