Magic hope to continue home dominance over Bucks

Nov 14, 2014 - 2:43 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks will have to get used to life on the road the next few weeks and will pay a visit to the Orlando Magic Friday.

The Bucks will play two straight, four of five and six of the next nine games on the road and are 1-3 outside the Bradley Center this season.

Milwaukee is coming off back-to-back home wins over Memphis and Oklahoma City, and handed the Thunder an 85-78 setback Tuesday. It scored a season-low 15 points in the first quarter, then rallied behind a stout defense and 19 points off the bench by O.J. Mayo.

Brandon Knight and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, while rookie Jabari Parker was held to a career-low six points for the Bucks, who have won two in a row for the first time in the last 105 games dating back to 2013.

"You know it's something positive," Mayo said of the brief winning streak. "Last year, obviously, we put that behind us but it didn't happen for us."

The Bucks held the Thunder to just 33.3 percent shooting and hasn't allowed 100 points in five straight games and six times this season. They are fourth in the NBA in opponents' scoring at 92.6 ppg.

Milwaukee posted season-highs in bench points (53) and points in the paint (50) against a Thunder team minus Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Meanwhile, the Magic have won three of five games since an 0-4 start to the season and halted a two-game slide with Wednesday's 97-95 win at New York.

Evan Fournier finished with a career-high 28 points, Nikola Vucevic scored 20 with 13 rebounds and Tobias Harris added 12 points for Orlando, which made 47.1 percent of its shots and survived a late 3-point miss by Knicks guard J.R. Smith in the waning moments.

New York trailed 96-92 and Carmelo Anthony buried a 3-pointer to make it a one-point affair. Fournier then made one of his two foul shots and Smith came up short on the other end.

"It was very important for our confidence," Fournier said of the win.

The Magic will try to keep the confidence level high against the Bucks and split four meetings in this series last season. Each team won two at home, where Milwaukee probably wishes it was for this game.

Milwaukee has lost 16 in a row, 17 of 18 and 19 of its last 21 trips to Orlando. The last time the Bucks beat the Magic on the road was Dec. 29, 2004 in a 111-105 decision.
