Warriors streak into Orlando
Nov 26, 2014 - 3:50 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors will carry their six-game winning streak into Orlando Wednesday night to take on the Magic at Amway Center. The Warriors have snapped off six straight victories since back-to-back losses. They've won three in a row on the road and Golden State is in the midst of a five-game road swing. The Warriors still have dates with the Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons before returning to the Bay Area.
On Tuesday, the Warriors used a huge fourth-quarter surge to topple the Miami Heat, 114-97.
Golden State star Stephen Curry scored just 23 points over his previous two games.
He erupted for a season-high 40 on Tuesday.
Curry shot 8-of-11 from behind the arc and contributed seven assists and six rebounds to lead the Warriors over the four-time reigning Eastern Conference champions.
"I had some guys set me some screens that helped me get going," Curry said. "It was a big night."
Klay Thompson added 24 points for the Warriors, who improved to 6-1 on the road this season.
Andrew Bogut was questionable to play with an orbital contusion that he suffered on Sunday against Oklahoma City, but he powered through the injury and contributed eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Golden State shot 57.3 percent and held the Heat to 38.8 percent. The Heat led with seven minutes to go, but the Warriors held Miami to 11 points in the fourth quarter to pull away.
The Magic have dropped two straight and weren't too competitive Monday night in a 106-74 drubbing at the hands of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.
James had 29 points and 11 assists in playing just three quarters.
Victor Oladipo had 22 points and Nikola Vucevic scored 18 with 13 rebounds to lead the Magic, who have dropped eight in a row to the Cavs and four of their last six games overall.
They played a second straight game without starting forward Tobias Harris, who is nursing a strained right calf. Harris averages 18.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He is listed as questionable for Wednesday.
"We're missing 19 points," said Magic coach Jacque Vaughn. "That puts pressure on other guys to do things they don't normally do."
It was a season low in points for the Magic.
The Warriors swept both of last season's meetings and their win on last New Year's Eve halted a four-game road losing streak in this series.
