Final
Thunder dominate Jazz
Nov 27, 2014 - 6:51 AM Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Reggie Jackson poured in 22 points and Jeremy Lamb scored 21 off the bench in Oklahoma City's 97-82 rout of the Utah Jazz Wednesday night.Serge Ibaka registered 20 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Thunder, who snapped a six-game losing streak and gained just their fourth win in 16 tries this season.
"It was a good team win," said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. "We've been close so many times and I told the guys we have a lot of things to be thankful for this week."
The Jazz, losers of four in a row, were led by Gordon Hayward's 24 points, but he committed eight of his team's 19 turnovers.
"(They made) a couple plays here and there in the second half, a couple of offensive rebounds for big-time 3s by them, they pushed the lead to 10-15 points and we just kind of fell apart," said Hayward.
Alec Burks kept the Jazz close by scoring 10 first-quarter points. Utah shot 65 percent in the opening 12 minutes, but Lamb and Jackson combined for 16 points in the first quarter to give the hosts a 31-29 edge by period's end.
Burks drained a fadeaway bank shot to give the visitors a 25-15 lead, but the Thunder stormed back with an ensuing 14-2 burst. Lamb scored the final eight Oklahoma City points of the period, including back-to-back 3-point shots.
Hayward's floater tied the game at 44 with 4:16 to play in the second, but Jackson's jam capped an ensuing 9-0 push. The Thunder were in front, 56-48, at halftime.
Eight straight points in the latter stages of the third quarter widened the gap to 71-58. Anthony Morrow finished the burst with a 3-pointer, one of his four conversions from long distance.
Oklahoma City led by 12 going to the fourth and the advantage never dipped below nine points.
