Bosh scored 10 points off the bench in Sunday's All-Star Game and was admitted to a Miami hospital. According to the Miami Herald, Bosh is dealing with an issue to his lungs and coach Erik Spoelstra said his top player was feeling under the weather.
The talented Bosh is averaging 21.1 points and 7.0 rebounds, and went to Haiti for a mini vacation with his wife and Dwyane Wade and his wife.
Miami, which has dropped four in a row on the road, could use Bosh because it's barely holding on to the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Miami and Charlotte have identical 22-30 records and sit one game ahead of Brooklyn and 1 1/2 games in front of Boston.
The Heat made a deal with the Phoenix Suns on Thursday and acquired disgruntled guard Goran Dragic as part of a three-team trade. The Suns received Danny Granger and two future first-round picks -- 2017 top-seven protected and unprotected 2021 -- from the Heat. They also got swingman John Salmons, who will be waived, from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Phoenix also sent Dragic's brother, Zoran, to Miami in the deal.
New Orleans got guard Norris Cole, forward Shawne Williams and center Justin Hamilton from Miami in the trade.
Miami has lost eight of its last 12 games and suffered a 113-93 loss at Cleveland before the All-Star break. After visiting the Knicks, the Heat will return to south Florida to face New Orleans and Philadelphia.
New York was hoping to get Dragic on Thursday, but ended up trading Pablo Prigioni. Prigioni departed the Big Apple in exchange for guard Alexey Shved and New York's 2017 and 2019 second-round picks.
Prigioni is averaging 4.7 points and 2.4 assists over 43 games in his third NBA season.
The Knicks also announced that star forward Carmelo Anthony underwent successful surgery to repair the patella tendon of his left knee. Anthony has been bothered by knee problems throughout much of this season, having missed 13 of the Knicks' 53 games before the All-Star break. The 2012-13 NBA scoring champion is expected to need 4-to-6 months of recovery time.
Anthony averaged 24.2 points and 6.6 rebounds in 40 games this season.
New York is mired in a five-game slide and will also host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
The Knicks have lost the first two meetings with the Heat this season and are winless in the previous five games in the series.
New York is 7-19 at home and Miami has a 13-15 road record.
