Grizzlies pay a visit to Boston

Mar 11, 2015 - 2:01 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Southwest-leading Memphis Grizzlies will resume a four-game road trip against the Boston Celtics Wednesday at TD Garden.

The Grizzlies opened the trek with a loss in New Orleans on Saturday, but rebounded with a 101-91 triumph at Chicago Monday night.

Marc Gasol scored 23 points, Jeff Green added 19 and Zach Randolph ended with 16 for Memphis, which has won four of six games and sits 5 1/2 games off the top seed in the Western Conference.

"Defense was the key for the whole game," Gasol said. "We were able to contain them and play an aggressive game."

Memphis shot 50 percent for the game and is 21-11 on the road. It will visit Washington on Thursday.

The Celtics went 2-1 on a recent road trip and closed out a two-game tour through Florida with Monday's 100-90 triumph over the Miami Heat.

Isaiah Thomas scored 25 points, Brandon Bass netted 14 and Luigi Datome added 13 points for Boston, which has won three of the last four games.

Thomas suffered a back and elbow injury, and pulled through.

"It was important," said Thomas, who is doubtful Wednesday and has led the team in scoring over the past four games off the bench. "I just tried to suck it up as much as possible because my teammates said they needed me."

Celtics guard Avery Bradley (elbow) is listed as out versus Memphis.

Boston will also host Orlando on this quick homestand and is aiming to even its 15-16 mark in Beantown.

The Celtics are two games off the final postseason spot in the East with a record 10 games below. 500.

Memphis has defeated Boston in each of the past five meetings, including a 117-100 triumph on Nov. 21 on Beale Street.
