Magic seeking revenge against Pistons

Nov 2, 2007 - 1:15 PM Detroit (1-0) at Orlando (1-0) 7:00 pm EDT

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) - The Orlando Magic are likely seeking revenge against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Despite qualifying for the postseason as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, Orlando made a quick exit as top-seeded Detroit completed a four-game sweep in the first round last April.

The Magic began the new campaign with a 102-83 triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. On Friday, the Magic try to start 2-0 for the first time in three seasons.

The Pistons started the new campaign with a 91-80 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday despite the absence of Richard Hamilton and rookie Rodney Stuckey.

Hamilton missed Thursday's game due to a family emergency. The 29-year-old guard has been the Pistons' leading scorer over the past five seasons and averaged 19.8 points last campaign.

Stuckey will miss the next six weeks after having surgery on his broken right hand, which he injured during a preseason victory over the Washington Wizards last Wednesday. The 15th overall pick in June's draft averaged 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in seven preseason games - including two starts.

A win on Friday would give the Pistons back-to-back road wins to open the season for the second time in the last three campaigns.
