McGrady, Rockets aim to take down unbeaten Spurs

Nov 6, 2007 - 2:27 PM San Antonio (3-0) at Houston (3-1) 8:00 EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets hope to rebound from their first loss of the season Tuesday when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

Tracy McGrady had 35 points and eight assists and Yao Ming contributed 21, 11 rebounds and two blocks for the Rockets in Monday's 107-98 setback against the Dallas Mavericks. The rest of the starters combined for just 19 points.

"I thought we did a poor job on the offensive end executing and getting the ball in the right spots, turning the ball over," McGrady said.

The 28-year-old McGrady was just named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday after posting 33.3 points through the first three games.

Tim Duncan recorded 15 points and 10 boards and Tony Parker added 15 to help the Spurs roll to an effortless 96-80 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.

San Antonio is undefeated through the first three games for the first time since the 2000-01 season, when it finished with the best record in the league.

The Rockets and Spurs split in their four-game season series last campaign with each team winning both meetings on the others court.
