Scorching Suns look to stay hot against struggling Bulls
Nov 15, 2007 - 2:34 PM Chicago (1-5) at Phoenix (6-2) 10:30 pm ESTPHOENIX (Ticker) - The Phoenix Suns look for their fourth straight victory on Thursday when they take on the Chicago Bulls.
Amare Stoudemire scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Suns extended their winning streak with a 113-102 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Stoudemire's performance against the Knicks may get him back on track after averaging just 13.0 points and 5.3 rebounds in his first four games. The 24-year-old center missed three games earlier this season with pain in his right knee after having arthroscopic surgery on October 2.
The Suns are winning games with their up-tempo style of offense which has them ranked sixth in the league, scoring 104.28 points a game.
While the Suns seem unbeatable, the Bulls are struggling to win games. Chicago followed its first win of the season last Thursday with an ugly 30-point loss to the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, scoring a season-low 71 points.
The Bulls have struggled on offense all season, averaging 86.50 points per game - third worst in the NBA. Chicago also ranks second to last in field-goal percentage and three-point percentage, making just 38.1 percent of their shots from the floor and 26.2 percent from 3-point range.
