Sonics look to extend winning streak at Charlotte

Nov 17, 2007 - 2:23 PM Seattle (2-8) at Charlotte (4-4) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - After opening the season with eight straight losses, the Seattle SuperSonics look for their third straight victory Saturday when they face the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Sonics followed up a victory over Miami with a 126-123, double-overtime win at Atlanta Friday. Damien Wilkins scored career-high 41 points and added nine rebounds, while Kevin Durant added 21 points for Seattle.

Durant, the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, made a 3-pointer at the end of the second overtime over the outstretched arm of Al Horford to give the Sonics the victory.

Chris Wilcox scored 16 points, while Earl Watson and Wally Szczerbiak each netted 15 for Seattle. Nick Collison collected 14 rebounds for the Sonics.

Seattle's biggest lead was 14 early in the third quarter, but the Hawks came back several times in a game that featured 15 lead changes and was tied 20 times.

Charlotte hasn't played since Wednesday, a 117-109 defeat at Atlanta. Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson each scored 27 points for the Bobcats in the loss.

Charlotte is 1-5 all-time against Seattle, including a pair of losses last season.
