Spurs look to continue recent dominance over Timberwolves

Nov 30, 2007 - 3:45 PM San Antonio (13-3) at Minnesota (2-11) 8:00 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs look to continue their recent success against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

The Spurs have won six of the past seven games - including three of four in Minnesota - against the Timberwolves, who already have suffered through two five-game losing streaks this season.

San Antonio bounced back from just its third loss of the season with a 109-94 victory over Washington on Wednesday.

Tony Parker fell two rebounds shy of a triple-double, pouring in 29 points along with 11 assists. The guard leads the Spurs in scoring, averaging just over 20 points per game.

The Timberwolves have yet to win back-to-back games this season, losing 109-103 at Dallas on Wednesday after their second victory of the season on Monday.

Al Jefferson is averaging 20.7 points and 11.2 rebounds in his first season with Minnesota.

The centerpiece of the package that the Timberwolves received for dealing Kevin Garnett to Boston, Jefferson has recorded 10 double-doubles thus far, including a season-high 31 points and 14 rebounds in the loss to the Mavericks.

Minnesota, which is off to its worst start at home since beginning the 1994-95 campaign 0-10, is just 1-6 at the Target Center this season. The Timerwolves have dropped four straight at home.
