Hawks look for fourth straight win vs. Timberwolves

Dec 6, 2007 - 2:03 PM Minnesota (2-14) at Atlanta (7-10) 7:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Atlanta Hawks look to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves for a fourth straight time when the teams meet Thursday.

Atlanta has not lost to Minnesota since April 9, 2006.

On November 24, Joe Johnson scored 24 points to lead the Hawks to a 94-87 triumph over the Timberwolves.

The Hawks enter this contest coming off Wednesday's 106-95 loss to the Detroit Pistons. It marked the first time in eight games that an opponent reached 100 points against the Hawks.

It has been a struggle for Minnesota, which enters with the league's worst record. During its current four-game losing streak, the Wolves are allowing 110.0 points per contest.

Minnesota has lost its last three games by a combined 65 points.

The Timberwolves were without coach Randy Wittman in Tuesday's 116-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Wittman is out indefinitely following back surgery on Wednesday. Assistant coach Jerry Sichting will serve as the acting coach until Wittman returns.
