Streaking Sixers set to host lowly Timberwolves

Dec 12, 2007 - 2:22 PM Minnesota (3-16) at Philadelphia (8-13) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers have reeled off three straight wins while their front office goes through a major overhaul.

The Sixers shoot for their fourth straight victory when they host the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Philadelphia fired long-time general manager Billy King on December 3 and replaced him with former New Jersey Nets executive Ed Stefanski.

The Sixers dropped the first two games of the Stefanski era but rebounded to take back-to-back games from the New York Knicks before earning a 100-88 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday.

Willie Green has led the team in scoring the past two games, including a 20-point output against the Rockets.

The Timberwolves dropped a 102-88 decision to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday but witnessed the continued emergence of second-year forward Craig Smith, who scored 36 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Smith has scored at least 13 points in the last four games.

Minnesota has yet to notch a win against an Eastern Conference opponent this season, going 0-7.
