Kings open five-game road trip at Celtics
Dec 12, 2007 - 3:24 PM Sacramento (8-12) at Boston (17-2) 7:30 pm ESTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings begin a five-game tour of the East Coast on Wednesday. But the first stop is against the red-hot Boston Celtics.
Sacramento will seek its first road win of the season Wednesday when it visits Boston, which boasts the NBA's best record.
John Salmons scored 22 points and Brad Miller contributed 17 and 10 rebounds as the Kings held on for a 96-93 victory over the struggling Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.
The Kings improved to 8-4 at Arco Arena, but they own an 0-8 mark on the road.
"We've been playing well at home and we've got to continue to do that," Kings coach Reggie Theus said. "Going on a five-game road trip, it's important to start off with a positive attitude and really to look at some opportunities to get our first win on the road this trip."
Rajon Rondo tied a season high with 18 points to help overcome the struggles by the "Big Three" on Saturday as the Celtics posted a 92-81 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Ray Allen scored 21 points on just 6-of-16 shooting, Kevin Garnett delivered a quiet 16-point, nine-rebound performance and Paul Pierce managed just 10 points for the Celtics, who improved to 10-0 this season at home.
