Red-hot teams clash when Nuggets host Hornets

DENVER (Ticker) -- Two of the NBA's hottest teams face off on Wednesday when the Denver Nuggets host the New Orleans Hornets.

The Nuggets have won five of their last six games and picked up their second straight win on Saturday with a 101-97 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Allen Iverson continued his offensive assault against the Kings, scoring 23 points and collecting 10 assists for his second straight double-double.

Iverson scored 35 points and added 12 assists during the Nuggets' previous game against the Dallas Mavericks after scoring a season-high 51 points in a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers last Wednesday.

The Hornets also have won five of their last six games and enter Wednesday's contest seeking their third straight win after logging a pair of narrow victories over the Memphis Grizzlies and Seattle SuperSonics.

Chris Paul scored a career-high 43 points to lift New Orleans to a 118-116 overtime win against the Grizzlies before registering 29 points and 10 assists en route to a 91-88 triumph over the Sonics on Sunday.
