Shorthanded Wizards go for fifth straight win
Dec 19, 2007 - 3:08 PM Chicago (8-14) at Washington (13-10) 7:00 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) - The shorthanded Washington Wizards go for their fifth straight win when they host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
Already without star guard Gilbert Arenas, Washington defeated Sacramento on Saturday with guard Antonio Daniels on the sidelines with a sprained ACL. Daniels is expected to be out four weeks.
Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison are each averaging over 20 points for the Wizards, while DeShawn Stevenson has scored 19.7 points over his last three games.
After a dismal 2-10 start, the Chicago Bulls are still searching for some consistency this season.
Chicago has lost three of five, including a 103-91 setback to the Lakers on Tuesday.
The Bulls have four players averaging in double figures, led by Luol Deng. The 22-year-old is scoring 22.5 points over his last four games.
It is the first meeting between the two teams this season. Washington went 1-3 against the Bulls last season.
