Bryant, Lakers look to rebound vs. 76ers

Dec 21, 2007 - 2:37 PM LA Lakers (15-10) at Philadelphia (10-15) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Kobe Bryant hopes a return to his childhood roots can get things going again.

Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers make the third stop on their four-game East Coast trip against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

A Philadelphia native, Bryant is averaging 19.5 points through the opening two games of Los Angeles' tour of the Eastern Conference.

The 29-year-old Bryant scored 21 points as Los Angeles dropped its third decision of the month with Thursday's 94-90 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"The key to the game was the way we finished the third quarter," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "We had control of the game. We just didn't finish that quarter out."

Philadelphia swingman Andre Iguodala should draw the defensive assignment on Bryant, who owns a career average of 23.6 points in 20 games against the Sixers.

The Sixers also look to bounce back after losing their second game in three tries with Wednesday's 102-85 decision to the Indiana Pacers.

The Lakers and 76ers have split the season series the past two seasons.
