Pistons look to continue home dominance of Lakers
Jan 31, 2008 - 1:50 PM LA Lakers (28-15) at Detroit (32-13) 7:30 pm ESTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons attempt to continue their home dominance of the Los Angeles Lakers when the teams meet Thursday.
Detroit has won its last eight home meetings against Los Angeles dating to January 8, 2002.
This is the opener of a season-high nine-game road trip for the Lakers, who are 11-8 away from home. Los Angeles does not return home until it faces Atlanta on February 19.
On Tuesday, the Pistons picked up their third straight win with 110-104 triumph over the Indiana Pacers. Rasheed Wallace led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant was two rebounds shy from a triple-double and Lamar Odom had 22 points and 11 boards in helping the Lakers end their three-game slide with Tuesday's 120-109 victory over the New York Knicks.
A two-time scoring champion, Bryant has been as effective when facing the Pistons. The 6-6 All-Star is averaging 21.4 points over 20 career meetings.
In the first matchup, Odom carried the load with 25 points and 15 rebounds as the Lakers posted a 103-91 victory on November 16 at the Staples Center.
