Knicks return home, hoping to end losing streak

Feb 4, 2008 - 3:28 PM LA Clippers (14-30) at New York (14-33) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) - After a dismal road trip, the New York Knicks hope a return to their home floor will stop a five-game losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

New York went 0-5 on its West Coast swing, losing three games by single digits - including an 86-85 setback to lowly Seattle on Saturday.

Zach Randolph is averaging 24.0 points in his last three games, while David Lee has posted four straight double-doubles. Lee is averaging 14.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game over that span.

The Clippers have dropped the first two contests of their seven-game road trip, and have lost nine straight games away from home overall.

Los Angeles is coming off a 98-84 loss at Cleveland on Saturday, despite 23 points and seven rebounds from rookie Al Thornton. The team's leading rebounder Chris Kaman missed the contest with flu-like symptoms.

The Clippers won the first meeting this season, 84-81, in Los Angeles on November 14 and have won five of the past six games between the two teams.
