Knicks hope to bounce back from another bad loss

Feb 22, 2008 - 1:25 PM Toronto (29-23) at New York (16-38) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The New York Knicks face the Toronto Raptors on Friday, coming off another dismal performance in a forgettable season.

The Knicks defeated Washington, 113-100, in overtime on Tuesday in their first game following the All-Star break. The good feelings quickly disappeared in Wednesday's 124-84 blowout loss at Philadelphia.

"We've had our good moments and we've had our share of bad moments," New York coach Isiah Thomas said. "We've got to keep working. All we can do is keep working."

The Knicks turned the ball over nine times in the first quarter, committed 16 turnovers in the first half, went 3-for-14 from 3-point range and trailed by 46 points in the third quarter. New York is 2-10 in its last 12 games.

The Raptors are coming off a 127-110 home rout of Orlando on Wednesday in their first game after the layoff. Chris Bosh scored 40 points for Toronto in the victory.

"We have to set the tone for the rest of this year," Bosh said. "It's going to be a big year for us, I think. We're in a position to do some good things."

Friday's game is the second of four between the teams. The Raptors won the first meeting, 99-90, on January 11 in New York. The teams play on Sunday in Toronto.
