Lakers look to continue rolling

Mar 9, 2008 - 1:25 PM Sacramento (27-35) at La Lakers (44-18) 9:30 pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be determined to finish the regular season with the best record in the Western Conference.

The Lakers go for their fourth straight win Sunday when they host the Sacramento Kings.

Los Angeles picked up its 13th win in the last 14 contests on Friday, claiming a dominating 119-82 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Derek Fisher scored 17 points and Kobe Bryant added 16 to lead the Lakers to their sixth straight home win.

Los Angeles is first in the competitive West, one-half game ahead of defending champion San Antonio.

"We just want to be No. 1, I mean it's that simple," Bryant said. "You got to win games on the road so home court is not that big a deal. I think for us it's about being No. 1, it's about winning everything, and that's the kind of mentality we have to have."

Kevin Martin scored 48 points - the record for a regulation game at Arco Arena - but couldn't lift the Kings to victory as they suffered a 111-103 loss to the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

The loss was the third straight for Sacramento, which has dropped seven out of its last eight games.
