Spurs mired in four-game skid

Mar 20, 2008 - 1:06 PM San Antonio (44-23) at Chicago (27-40) 8:00 pm EDT

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs have not endured a losing streak like this in quite some time.

The Spurs try to snap a four-game slide, their longest losing streak since 2003, on Thursday when they visit the Chicago Bulls.

San Antonio is 21-7 this season against the Eastern Conference, but has suffered its last three losses against teams in the East.

The Spurs suffered a pair of losses to the Detroit Pistons and Philadelphia 76ers after beginning their drought against the New Orleans Hornets on March 12. San Antonio's woes continued on Monday during a narrow 93-91 loss to the Boston Celtics.

However, the Spurs claimed a 94-79 victory over the Bulls during the teams' last meeting on December 26. Tony Parker scored 28 points to lead San Antonio and has managed at least 24 points in three games during the recent losing streak.

The Bulls ended a two-game slide of their own on Tuesday, forging a 112-96 victory over the New Jersey Nets. Luol Deng scored 20 points and Drew Gooden had 19 and 11 rebounds for Chicago, which had blown fourth-quarter leads in its previous two games.
