Magic near franchise record for road wins

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Only once in franchise history have the Orlando Magic been this good on the road.

The Magic target their franchise-high 24th road win of the season on Saturday when they meet the Atlanta Hawks.

Orlando, which won it first seven games of the season away from home, has continued its solid road play, winning six of its last eight away from Amway Arena.

After a road win over Miami on March 14, the Magic have played four straight home games, delaying their run at history until Saturday.

The 1995-96 Magic team went 23-18 away from Orlando, the only other time that Orlando finished over .500 on the road.

The Magic concluded their four-game homestand on Friday with a 113-95 victory over Philadelphia. Rashard Lewis scored 18 points to lead eight Orlando players in double figures.

Atlanta has not played since Wednesday's 125-117 loss to the New Jersey Nets, a setback that snapped a three-game winning streak and slid the Hawks back into a tie for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

However, Atlanta regained the lead as the Nets (29-40) lost to Denver on Friday.
