Lakers eye fifth straight win

Apr 8, 2008 - 2:07 PM Los Angeles (53-24) at Portland (38-39) 10:00 pm EDT

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Lakers seek their fifth consecutive victory and first win in over three years in Portland when they face the Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

The Lakers have had nearly as much success on the road (26-13) as they have at home (27-11) this season.

Their most recent road win came on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings, 114-92. Kobe Bryant had 29 points while Vladimir Radmanovic matched his season high with 21 points and his career high with 14 rebounds.

However, despite their lofty mark away from home, the Lakers still have yet to experience any recent success in Portland, where they have lost five straight since a win here on February 23, 2005.

That may be one of the few things the Blazers have going in their favor as Portland has dropped five straight.

While the team welcomed back leading scorer Brandon Roy from a four-game absence on Sunday, his presence alone was not enough as the Blazers set a new season-low in points in a 72-65 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
