Davis, Warriors try to extend winning streak to five

Nov 18, 2006 - 5:10 PM Seattle (4-6) at Golden State (6-3) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Baron Davis has been the centerpiece of the Golden State Warriors' offense and winning streak.

Davis and the Warriors continue their seven-game homestand as they welcome the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday.

During Golden State's four-game winning streak, Davis has averaged 28.5 points and 12 assists. He scored 36 points for the second time in four contests and set a career high with 18 assists - 11 in the first quarter - as the Warriors posted a 117-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

Mickael Pietrus netted 26 points and Andris Biedrins had a career-high 16 rebounds and four blocks for Golden State, which shot 58 percent (45-of-78) from the floor.

Meanwhile, the Sonics absorbed their second straight loss after a three-game winning streak due to a 118-109 setback to the Utah Jazz on Friday. Ray Allen scored 32 points and Rashard Lewis finished with 24 for Seattle, which was dominated on the glass, 47-27, and 19-5 on the offensive boards.

The Warriors captured last season's series, 2-1, and have won five of the last six meetings here.
