Nuggets seek to continue home dominance of Grizzlies

DENVER (Ticker) - The Denver Nuggets have been dominant at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Carmelo Anthony looks to lead the Nuggets to their 18th consecutive home triumph over the Grizzlies when the teams meet Tuesday for the first of four encounters this season.

The Nuggets have won 17 consecutive home contests against Memphis dating to November 18, 1997, and are 20-2 here all-time.

The Western Conference Player of the Week, Anthony averaged 31.3 points, shot 55 percent (46-of-84) from the floor and collected 5.3 assists in helping Denver go 4-0.

Anthony scored 33 points, J.R. Smith added 23 and Joe Smith 15 for Denver, which won its fifth straight contest in Sunday's 103-88 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Grizzlies have split their last four games after losing eight of their first nine, and are winless in seven road outings this season.

Hakim Warrick scored 12 points and rookie Rudy Gay and Chuck Atkins added 11 each for Memphis, which shot just 38 percent (26-of-69) in Saturday's 85-76 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Ranked 27th in scoring (92.7), the Grizzlies will try to defeat a Western Conference team for the first time in eight tries this season.
