Former No. 1 picks Rose, Brand face off as Sixers host Bulls
Nov 30, 2008 - 7:47 AM Chicago (7-9) at Philadelphia (7-9) 5:00 pm. ESTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls' past and present will face off when Elton Brand's Philadelphia 76ers host Derrick Rose and the Bulls on Sunday.
Brand, the No. 1 pick of the 1999 draft, averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in two seasons with the Bulls before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
The All-Star forward spent seven seasons in Los Angeles, then signed a five-year, $80 million deal with the Sixers in the offseason. His arrival hasn't given Philadelphia the boost it expected yet, though. Brand had 18 points and eight rebounds against Boston on Friday, but Philadelphia lost its third straight, 102-78.
Meanwhile, Chicago's latest No. 1 pick Rose is averaging 18.4 points and 5.8 assists, but he too is having little success with his new team. The Bulls have lost four of six and are just 2-7 on the road.
Rose struggled in a 98-88 loss to San Antonio on Friday. The 6-3, 190-pound Chicago native managed just one field goal in the second half and finished with 10 points - his second-lowest total.
Philadelphia won three of the four meetings last season.
